iPudong “3935” Campaign aims at information industry

Shanghai Pudong New Area has received China’s “Achievement Award for Urban Informationization” in 2010 and 2011 respectively. In June this year, Pudong introduced “the Plan of National Economy and Society Informatization during the period of 12th Five-Year Plan—iPudong2015 Schema”. “3935” Campaign was released this week as part of the detailed implementation plan of iPudong 2015 Schema, and the goals are to accelerate the construction of information infrastructure, while increasing the implication of information technology in urban administration and public life and eventually leading to an optimal intellect industry and environment in Pudong.

This campaign is entitled “3935”, and the first “3” implies a prospective and ambitious view of infrastructure system, including 3 plans, namely “City optical network upgrading”, “Comprehensive plan of wireless connection”, and “Acceleration plan of triple networks”. The “9”  indicates 9 projects in respect to the government services, urban administration, social undertakings, rural life, informationization and so forth. Meanwhile, the second part of the campaign is consisted of 3 tasks and 5 measurements. The 3 tasks are to enlarge the achieved advantages in electronic information manufacturing industry, to enhance the level of software and information service industry, last but not least, to give increasing attentions to the innovative development in new intersections.

In 2010, Pudong New Area was acknowledged by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information as “the National Integrated Innovation and Practice Zone of E-business”. In last year, the output of electronic information manufacturing industry in Pudong reached 241.61 billion RMB, an increase of 39% year on year. On the other hand, the turnover of software and information service industry was 138.02 billion RMB, which took up approximately 54.5% of the total volume of Shanghai.
 
Hebei - South Holland Province: the 3rd International Water & Environment Conference, November 3rd 2011
The 1st International Water and Environment Congress was held in Hebei Province in 2007. In the year of 2009, Mrs. Lenie Dwarshuis, Vice-Governor of the Province of South Holland, led a delegation to Hebei and participated in the 2nd Congress. The themes of the last conference included: Urban Planning, Climate Change, Environmental Protection, Utilization & Protection of Water Resource, and Treatment of Pharmaceutical Wastewater.

This year's program will be jointly prepared by the water and environment departments of Hebei and South Holland Provinces.
